SecondLife has been around now for, well, nearly a decade. Things started a certain way and from there it has slowly grown. Each object started with only the ability to interact with it by touching it, or talking on a channel. Then things started getting smarter, more advanced. Detecting movement, motion, talking, etc. Soon it may even detect when voice chat is being said around it (we all hope). But, along with the way that this has all started, many people feel that this is the only way that it can be and cannot pull away from the fact that, yes, there are other ways, better ways to do things. CTD has strived to be the first and only collar system that is 100% Menu Driven. Each command, each function is through the use of the menu. This is to prevent typos, reduce chat command lag, reduce chatter in high traffic areas, and to maintain a cleaner environment to everyone (a screen full of text while people around you are trying to control their collars is a horrible sight). But, there is also a very common misconception that the collars are what control everything... You need to access the collar... Talk to the collar... The collar controls the owners more then they are controlling the pet. Who do you think gets trained more? The Owner learning all of the commands needed to control the collar? Or the pet that lets the collar do most of the work for them? CTD Controllers completely remove this from the Owner. The Owner simply selects what they want to do. They don't have to learn any tricky commands, learn animation names ( ".play SlaveHug2 ... or was it Slave2Hug, uhm... I forgot..." Why are we doing this?!), no more screens full of text... Use what is given to you. Advances in SecondLife has given everyone the option for better communications, easier use, and smoother play. Why use something that still requires you to enter in commands line an old DOS prompt? Please, don't flood public chat, channel 1, or channel 10 with repetitive commands. Every other collar out there feels that this is how it is supposed to work, yet you always wonder why the sims that these collars are used in are the slowest sims around. Coincedence? We are in so much of a better place right now then were we were years ago. Lacky scripting, laggy usage, and no concern for other usages on a massive scale cause a lot of issues in the overall scheme of things. Lets all let go of the old and start using the new. |
